PATEEX 2026 leadership vows stronger push to empower Philippine agriculture

CLARK FREEPORT, PAMPANGA, PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Agri-Tech Ecosystem Expo (PATEEX) 2026 Committee and Officers, led by Chairman Henry V. Bayubay, have reaffirmed their strong commitment to further empower the country’s agriculture sector in the coming year, building on the momentum of the recently concluded PATEEX 2025 held last November 2025.

In a statement following their corporate planning session in December 2025, the PATEEX leadership acknowledged the challenges encountered during the organization and execution of PATEEX 2025, but emphasized that these experiences have strengthened their resolve to elevate the expo’s impact nationwide.

Chairman Bayubay said the New Year marks a renewed chapter for PATEEX, with clearer direction and broader collaboration aimed at advancing agri-technology, innovation, and inclusive growth for Filipino farmers, cooperatives, and agripreneurs.

“As we move forward to PATEEX 2026, our commitment is even stronger. The lessons from PATEEX 2025 have guided us to improve our systems, expand our reach, and deepen our mission of empowering the agriculture sector,” Bayubay said.

Among the key outcomes of the December corporate planning was the formal preparation for PATEEX 2026, which is set to be held across multiple regions, including Region IV-A and IV-B, as well as Regions VI and VII. This multi-regional approach is expected to widen stakeholder participation and strengthen regional agri-tech ecosystems.

A major highlight of the upcoming PATEEX 2026 is the plan to hold the expo within an agricultural university, a model seen as critical in bridging innovation, education, and practical farming applications. This initiative was made possible through the support and opportunity extended by Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) in Magalang, Pampanga, which has agreed to serve as one of the host venues.

The PATEEX organizers said hosting the event inside an academic institution will allow students, researchers, farmers, startups, and technology providers to directly interact, collaborate, and co-create solutions for modern and sustainable agriculture.

The development and continued growth of PATEEX were also inspired by the strong support of Assistant Secretary Virgilio Lazaga, Agri-Sector representative and member of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). Organizers credited Asec. Lazaga’s guidance and encouragement as instrumental in shaping PATEEX into a platform that champions innovation, cooperation, and empowerment within the agricultural sector.

With PATEEX 2026 preparations now underway, the committee expressed optimism that the next edition of the expo will further strengthen partnerships among government agencies, academic institutions, cooperatives, private enterprises, and farmer groups.

“Our vision is clear: PATEEX will continue to be a catalyst for innovation and collaboration that uplifts Filipino farmers and contributes to food security and sustainable development,” Bayubay said.

The organizers added that PATEEX 2026 will also highlight integrated technology-driven solutions, including the Bagsakan Ecosystem and Integrated Logistics System for agricultural products, SMART Greenhouse Agri-Systems, SMART Agarwood Planting Management Systems and Microgrids Portable Dryers for grains and fish. These innovations are expected to empower farmers, reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access, and promote national food security through the strategic use of modern and sustainable technologies.
