ABORLAN, Palawan – A major step toward transforming Philippine agriculture took shape as the MIGS Master Institute for Graphics & Agritech Solutions Inc. (MIGS) conducted an on-site inspection for the proposed first Digital Smart Farm School in Barangay Apurawan, Aborlan, Palawan—a pioneering initiative aimed at reshaping farming through technology, education, and youth empowerment.
The
inspection was led by ABC President Danilo Cortez, MIGS CEO Henry
Bayubay, IPMAP–PSSFAI President and Drone Operator Adrian Ramosa,
and NPO News Correspondent Andrew B. Fiel, marking a milestone in the
realization of a modern agricultural learning hub in the province.
The proposed facility, envisioned as the first precision farming school in the region, aims to introduce advanced, technology-driven agricultural practices that will modernize farming and strengthen food security while inspiring the next generation of farmers.
A School for the Future of Farming
The
Digital Smart Farm School is designed to serve as a hands-on learning center
for precision agriculture, integrating modern tools such as drone
technology, data-driven farming systems, smart irrigation, digital mapping, and
sustainable agritech solutions.
According
to MIGS officials, the school will focus on equipping students with practical
knowledge and future-ready skills, bridging the gap between traditional farming
and modern agricultural innovation.
“This
project is not just about building a school—it is about building hope, skills,
and opportunities for our youth,” said MIGS CEO Henry Bayubay. “We want
agriculture to be seen not as a last option, but as a high-tech, dignified, and
profitable profession.”
Free Education for the Community
In a
strong demonstration of its social responsibility, MIGS pledged to provide
free education and training to qualified residents of Barangay Apurawan and
aspiring learners who wish to study digital and modern farming.
The
initiative aims to make agricultural education accessible, especially for young
people who may lack opportunities for formal training. By introducing
technology-driven agriculture, the program hopes to attract the youth—who are
naturally inclined toward digital innovation—back into the farming sector.
“This will be a platform where young people can see agriculture in a new light—smart, innovative, and future-ready,” Bayubay added.
Strengthening Food Security Through Innovation
The
project also aligns with MIGS’ broader advocacy to promote sustainable
agriculture and strengthen national food security. Through partnerships with
local leaders, agricultural experts, and industry stakeholders, the school is
envisioned to become a center of excellence for modern farming in Palawan and
beyond.
ABC
President Danilo Cortez expressed strong support for the initiative,
emphasizing its potential to uplift local communities and create long-term
economic opportunities.
Meanwhile,
IPMAP–PSSFAI President Adrian Ramosa highlighted the role of drone technology
and precision tools in improving productivity and efficiency, noting that
modern farming methods are essential in addressing climate challenges and food
demand.
A Shared Vision for Progress
The
proposed Digital Smart Farm School reflects MIGS’ commitment to nation-building
through education, innovation, and inclusive growth. By investing in youth,
technology, and sustainable agriculture, the initiative aims to transform
Apurawan into a model community for modern farming development.
“This is
more than a project—it is a movement,” said Bayubay. “A movement to empower our
farmers, inspire our youth, and secure the future of Philippine agriculture.”
With
strong partnerships and a clear vision, the planned school is poised to become
a landmark initiative in advancing precision farming and creating a new
generation of tech-driven Filipino farmers.
