TAYTAY, Palawan – December 18, 2025 — The spirit of Christmas and collective hope for a more sustainable agricultural future filled the air as the PATEEX Group, together with News Philippines Online, BB 88 Advertising, and Biorganism, celebrated the holidays with members and officers of the IPMAPi–Pamantolon Sagingan Sakahan Farmers Association Inc., alongside farmers, fisherfolks, and Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Taytay, Palawan.
The meaningful gathering went beyond
celebration, as it combined gift-giving,
community empowerment, and the presentation of transformative agricultural
programs aimed at improving livelihoods and food security. Farmers
received fertilizers and essential farm
inputs, while children who attended the event were delighted with
Christmas gifts, bringing joy and warmth to the community.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of upcoming programs
supported by the PATEEX Group and its partners, including the Empowered Group in Canada and BB 88 Advertising and Digital Solutions Inc.,
fresh from their participation in the recently concluded PATEEX 2025 at Pampanga State Agricultural
University (PSAU). These programs focus on practical, accessible technologies designed to uplift
grassroots agricultural communities.
Among the key initiatives introduced were innovative drying solutions for grains, fish
products, and other agricultural produce, as well as the rollout of flexible solar panel technologies to
address power and technology accessibility challenges in remote farming areas.
These solutions form part of the expanding PATEEX ecosystem, which integrates sustainability,
innovation, and inclusive rural development.
The PATEEX movement also unveiled plans to extend Electric Vehicle (EV) solutions for agricultural logistics, in partnership with ELIS Inc. At least two organized transport and multipurpose cooperatives are already working to access the program, which aims to modernize the movement of agricultural goods through EV-based transport systems—a key component of the ecosystem being built under the PATEEX movement.
Strengthening the institutional foundation of
the initiative, Assistant Secretary
Virgilio Lazaga, Board of
Directors (BOD), Agri-Sector of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA),
delivered a recorded message
during the program. In his message, Asec. Lazaga expressed his full support for the farmers, fisherfolks,
and IPs of Taytay and warmly welcomed
them into the cooperative movement, emphasizing that cooperatives
remain a vital pillar for inclusive growth, food security, and sustainable
rural enterprises. He encouraged the agriculture community to embrace the cooperative
model as a pathway to stronger market access, shared resources, and long-term
resilience.
The event was further graced by Vice Mayor Delma Edep of Taytay, who conveyed the strong backing of the local government for the initiatives of the PATEEX Group and the IPMAPi–Pamantolon Sagingan Sakahan Farmers Association Inc., particularly its planned conversion into a cooperative in 2026. This effort aligns with the priority of Mayor Norbert Lim, who continues to champion food security and sustainable agricultural development across the municipality.
Barangay
Chairperson Mayola Destura officially opened the celebration with
inspirational welcome remarks highlighting unity and shared responsibility,
followed by a message from Adrian Ramosa,
Chairman of IPMAPi–Palawan–PSSFAI,
who discussed ongoing projects and acknowledged the strong support from the LGU
and the National Executive Committee of
IPMAPi in guiding their transition from association to cooperative.
The celebration concluded with gift-giving activities and an empowering
discussion on the importance of cooperative development, along with
presentations on support from BC SMART
Greenhouse, ELIS Inc., and Empowered microgrids. Mr. Henry V. Bayubay, President of PATEEX–CCNPH–BB 88, delivered a hopeful
message that underscored collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose—leaving
the community inspired and optimistic as they look toward 2026.
More than a Christmas gathering, the event in Taytay, Palawan stood as a symbol of unity, partnership, and forward-looking action, where farmers, fisherfolks, IPs, government leaders, and private sector partners came together to build resilient communities and a sustainable agricultural future through the growing PATEEX movement.
