PATEEX Group Activates Food Security Programs in Region IV-B at CDA MIMAROPA Year-End Assessment

PUERTO GALERA, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines — The PATEEX Group formally activated its PATEEX Plan of Actions for Region IV-B during the 2025 CDA MIMAROPA CFIDP Year-End Assessment & Accomplishment Reporting cum HRD Activity held on November 11, 2025.

The initiative was spearheaded by CDA Region IV-B Regional Director Alberto A. Sabarias, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to strengthening food security and capacitating cooperatives in MIMAROPA through science-based and technology-driven interventions.

Director Sabarias highlighted the importance of aligning regional development strategies with accessible innovations that can uplift farmers, fisherfolk, youth groups, and community cooperatives.

He also acknowledged the strong support of Asec. Virgilio Lazaga, CDA BOD for Agri-Sector, whose leadership has expanded linkages for the PATEEX Movement and accelerated the rollout of agri-tech solutions.

The event was graced by Mr. Henry V. Bayubay, Chairman of the PATEEX Movement and innovator behind the homegrown BC SMART AgriSystem Greenhouse and Bagsakan Ecosystem. His presentation detailed practical, scalable technologies designed to enhance production, post-harvest handling, and farm-to-market connectivity.

An energetic open forum followed, where participants engaged in discussions on SMART Greenhouses, digital supply chain systems, and the ELIS Inc. EVTrike logistics program, which supports the efficient movement of farmers’ produce across communities.

The activation marks a major milestone for Region IV-B in advancing technology-based agriculture, boosting local productivity, and empowering cooperatives under CDA’s national food security roadmap.
