MANILA — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Friday night that all power transmission lines in Luzon affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong) have been fully restored, following the normalization of the La Trinidad–Sagada 69-kiloVolt (kV) line.
In an advisory released at 8 p.m., NGCP reported that the final line — La Trinidad–Sagada 69 kV — was successfully energized at around 7:16 p.m.
“Transmission services in all areas affected by Super Typhoon Uwan are now under normal operations,” NGCP said.
The grid operator added that it continues to keep a close watch on incoming weather systems and remains prepared to activate its Overall Command Center (OCmC) should any threat arise to its transmission assets.
The Department of Energy (DOE) earlier projected that full restoration of Uwan-damaged transmission lines could take up to a month, but noted that all agencies had been working to accelerate the repair timeline.
Among the hardest-hit areas were Mountain Province, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur, according to DOE officials.
