Megawide Secures ?1.2-B Baguio Integrated Terminal Project to Boost Northern Connectivity

MANILA — Infrastructure developer Megawide Construction Corporation (Megawide) has officially secured the contract to build the ₱1.2-billion Baguio City Integrated Terminal (BCIT), a major public-private partnership (PPP) project aimed at modernizing the city’s transport system and easing congestion in its central business district.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Megawide announced that it received the Notice of Award last Friday—three days after the conclusion of the Swiss Challenge held from July 16 to October 14, 2025.

“Our vision of a First World Philippines goes beyond building structures and critical facilities — we also need to connect key districts across the country to promote commerce and accelerate economic activity,” said Megawide Chief Executive Officer Edgar Saavedra. “We are very thankful to our LGU partners for sharing our goal and providing platforms where socio-economic progress can thrive.”

The upcoming terminal, set to rise on a five-hectare property in Barangay Dontogan along Marcos Highway, is currently under a usufruct agreement between the Local Government of Baguio and the Bureau of Animal Industry (Department of Agriculture).

Under a 40-year lease agreement, the BCIT will serve as a modern transport hub capable of handling up to 400 buses daily. Construction is expected to be completed within two years.

Once operational, provincial buses will no longer enter Baguio City’s central business district, reducing traffic congestion, improving commuter convenience, and enhancing the city’s overall urban mobility.

The Baguio City Integrated Terminal marks another milestone in Megawide’s expanding portfolio of transport and infrastructure projects nationwide, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban connectivity and regional development.
