SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Twenty-five exhibitors who joined the September 12–13 Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) trade fair in Antique have received wage support as part of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) emergency employment program.
Each exhibitor was granted ₱1,026, according to Betty Baldevia of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, who served as KNP coordinator. The payout began on Tuesday and was provided as an added incentive for participants.
The KNP, held in celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s 68th birthday, showcased agricultural and fishery products from local farmers, fisherfolk, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Baldevia encouraged participants to prepare for the next KNP, scheduled during Antique’s annual Binirayan Festival on December 12–13, where a larger turnout is expected.
“We encourage exhibitors to prepare their rice, meat, vegetables, fruits, and by-products to meet the higher demand,” she said.
Aside from the KNP booths, each municipality will also have its own display space for local products, with support from Municipal Agriculture Officers.
