LEGAZPI CITY — The provincial government of Albay has officially lifted its temporary ban on the entry of live birds, poultry products, and pigeon racing activities from Camarines Sur, following the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) declaration that the province is now free from Avian Influenza (AI).
In Executive Order No. 32, Governor Noel Rosal repealed the earlier Executive Order No. 27 issued on May 1, 2025, by then Governor Glenda Ong-Bongao, which had restricted the movement of poultry products from CamSur due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) H5N9 detected in Camaligan town.
“All provincial departments, agencies, and offices are directed to cease any enforcement or implementation of Executive Order No. 27, series of 2025, and to take the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition in accordance with this Order,” the EO stated.
The lifting of the ban takes effect immediately, signaling a return to normal poultry trade and related activities between the two Bicol provinces.
