MANILA – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has reclassified its tourism economic zone in Pampanga into a mixed-use special economic zone to accommodate agro-industrial, manufacturing, and information technology enterprises alongside tourism-related developments.
PEZA Director General Teresa Panga and Hann Philippines Inc. (HPI) Corporate Secretary Mitchell Estacio signed a supplemental agreement on August 19 at the PEZA office in Makati City, formalizing the registration of the Hann Reserve.
The agreement highlights “PEZA’s commitment to attract transformative investments and shape future-ready economic zones across the country,” the agency said in a statement Monday.
The Hann Reserve ecozone will integrate tourism, industry, agriculture, and IT sectors under one sustainable, master-planned development.
“This reclassification of Hann Reserve ushers in a new era of ecozone development—one that fuses industry, innovation, agriculture, and tourism into a single, sustainable engine of growth,” Panga said.
PEZA noted that the South Korean-led Hann Reserve project is envisioned to become a world-class destination where industries and communities thrive together. Once operational, it is expected to drive new investments, create jobs, and position Pampanga as a premier growth hub in Luzon.
“This initiative not only leverages the Philippines’ investment competitiveness but also reinforces PEZA’s mission of ecozoning the country for inclusive and balanced development, with countryside progress at its core,” the agency added.
In its own statement, HPI said the reclassification would enable it to attract a wider pool of investors to its 455.60-hectare leased property. The company currently operates integrated lifestyle resorts within the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
