LEGAZPI CITY – Agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs) in Camarines Sur recorded over PHP1.16 million in sales during a five-day agricultural trade fair, highlighting the growing market for local farm products. According to data from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), a total of 27 ARBOs participated in the Feria de Camarines held in Naga City from July 17 to 21, generating PHP1,166,062 in revenue.
The annual event served as a platform for land reform beneficiaries to showcase a diverse range of agricultural produce, processed food items, and handcrafted goods. By providing direct access to consumers, the fair allowed farmers to promote their products while strengthening local agribusiness networks within the province.
In a statement, Rodel Martirez, Officer-in-Charge of DAR Camarines Sur, emphasized that the active participation of ARBOs reflects the thriving agricultural sector in the province. “Through this type of activity, our farmers are more encouraged to improve their products. DAR’s support will continue to provide a wider market for local products,” he said.
Martirez added that the PHP1.16 million earnings demonstrate the increasing public support for Bicolano farmers and the positive impact of connecting them with larger markets. He also underscored that initiatives like the Feria de Camarines not only uplift the livelihood of agrarian reform beneficiaries but also contribute to boosting the overall economy of Camarines Sur.
