ILOILO CITY — The Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) has officially launched its Agrisenso Plus Lending Program in Pototan, Iloilo, bringing expanded financing and support services to farmers across Western Visayas.
The Agrisenso Plus (Strategic and Enhanced Delivery of Support and Opportunities) is a value chain-based financing initiative developed in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, Agricultural Credit Policy Council, and private sector groups. It aims to help farmers, fisherfolk, MSMEs, large farms, and agriculture graduates through accessible loans and technical assistance.
LBP President and CEO Lynette Ortiz emphasized the program’s role in supporting food security by providing access to capital, noting a ₱12 billion funding pool—₱10 billion from Landbank’s own resources and ₱2 billion from partner support.
Key features of the program include:
4% fixed interest rate for small farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries
Competitive rates for associations, MSMEs, and large enterprises
Free life and credit insurance
Simplified documentation
Expanded technical support across various crops and agribusiness sectors
So far, 7,000 farmers have already availed of the program, with a target of 10,000 beneficiaries this year.
The program is further strengthened by ASCEND (Agri-Fishery Support through Capability Enhancement for Nationwide Development), offering training on digital finance, sustainable agriculture, and enterprise development.
About 1,800 farmers attended the launch, with the first 30 beneficiaries receiving their Agrisenso Plus cards, which serve as specialized savings accounts for the sector.
The event was attended by Agriculture Undersecretary Asis Perez, Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. President Jovy Bernabe, and Pototan Mayor Rafael Enrique Lazaro.
